Drink Your Greens! Peach & Pineapple Smoothie with Banana, Spinach & Flax
It must be smoothie day because prior to posting this, I was perusing Pinterest and my feed was loaded with smoothie recipes! Well, here's MY latest smoothie recipe, ready for the drinking. A few thoughts on smoothies, first, though.
Skeptical of those murky green smoothies and juices that promise you can't even taste the greens? Yeah, me too...but I decided to give a whirl. There are some vegetables that I think are impossible to mask in a smoothie (beets, carrots, etc.), but I've heard from enough people that spinach really does fade into whatever other flavors are present. I put my faith in this theory and wasn't disappointed.
You really can put whatever you want into a smoothie, but I tend to make the same combination every time, usually something with frozen raspberries, yogurt and orange juice. Ultimately, it tastes great but I was in the mood to mix things up. Plus, I needed pineapple juice for another recipe and could only find a large container of it, so that already created the opportunity to try something new. Check out this healthy combination of flavors. And I swear, it doesn't taste like grass.

1 ripe banana, sliced
1 c. pineapple juice
